About the Author

Author Bennett ShelferA native Floridian, Bennett Shelfer is a graduate of Florida State University, where he was Drum Major of the world-renowned Marching Chiefs.

After serving five years as instructor pilot in the U.S. Air Force, he was a supervisory pilot for National, Pan Am, and Delta Airlines. For a ten year period, he piloted the White House press corps, accompanying two Presidents overseas and to every state in the union. He is among the few pilots ever to have been hijacked twice.

Mr. Shelfer’s previous works include coauthor credit on What Might Have, a musical based on the movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, and 1492, the official musical of the Quincentenary Celebration, and more recently, Struttin’, an award-winning family drama screenplay.

A sports enthusiast, he has teamed with one of his daughters to win five national tennis championships. He and his wife divide their time between Florida and Georgia while Mr. Shelfer is working on his next book.
