Drawing Dead is the story of a poker playing FBI Special Agent Jason Lancer, who is obsessed with horoscopes and tarot cards after losing his mother 20 years earlier in a plane crash. Lancer is pursuing a team of terrorist hijackers who failed to become airborne on 9/11. When the terrorists surface in America’s heartland, Lancer is ordered to take a plane to St. Louis but faces the same warnings that spelled doom for his mother. Fearing for his life and the others on the plane, Lancer abruptly resigns from the FBI and moves to Las Vegas to make a living playing poker. He becomes involved with a sexy poker professional who teaches him that it’s not the stars or the cards that are important, but the ability to read people. When the terrorists are threatening to destroy Hoover Dam with a nuclear device, Lancer confronts his obsessions and agrees to help the FBI. But will his newly acquired poker skills enable him to call the terrorists’ bluff? Read an excerpt from Drawing Dead
